Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

A jet carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, per an official announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.

"The jet landed in accordance with standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer said in a public statement.

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.

This occurrence isn't the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has encountered equipment failures.

Months ago, a American military jet transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to return to Washington after encountering a technical issue.
